Applied Animation-Finishing Pre-Production& Presentation -Week 7

Finishing Pre-Production& Presentation -

Week 7

This week is the end of pre-production. After the presentation, we are showing all of our pre-production in one place so this is all of our work needed for us to prepare for building our animation props. This is a massive load off from work load as now we have all this work done early and we are very prepared for the presentation/ pitch bible we have to give.

These are the images of all of our slides with our work on. The work we have done has made me very proud of our group as it was shown when others were presenting, that we have done a lot more work than most becuase we wanted to get into the production stage on time. For the presentation, we split the slides up equally so none of us were too quiet, this also gave us a chance to learn what we needed to say and be more prepared.

After presenting, we asked for questions. One brought up was the background, where one of our tutors suggested we take pictures from various angles of the trees, and build a background made from stop motion images. This would mean the background will match the foreground and it will still make the rainforest look dense and thick, so this was a suggestion we will be taking on board.

Another was about how the mother leaves, it wasn't clear what happens to her, but she was supposed to have been killed while gone, so peers suggested sound of either a gun shot or monkey scream to further tell the story of what happens to Orangutan's in the wild during this process. This is another point we will be adding as it was interesting to hear feedback and see that people were confused so this is a positive change we can make.

At the end, a question I asked was about the facts and whether or not they should be spoken or just shown on screen. The response was both as our target market is a range of ages so this would benefit both targets. The song was said to also be too happy but this was not something we were worried about as it was a rough soundtrack Stacy wrote but with the words over the top, it changes the mood entirely of the atmosphere.

Overall this presentation was very useful and now we can make changes and move onto building our puppets and sets from this week onwards.
